The
environment in which a horse is kept can affect its physical health
and mental wellbeing. Most horses and ponies thrive on being kept
out on grass for as much time as possible, but once the grazing
has gone in the winter horse owners have a dilemma.
Forage
needs to be made available to ensure the horse is adequately fed.
If hay is fed in the field horses have a tendency to spread it about,
tread it in the mud rendering it inedible. This proves wasteful
and expensive to the horse owner. The Hayledge feeding system offers
a solution to this problem
Easy
to fill and safer than nets this system allows feeding in a horses
natural position.
Ideal for Laminitic horses and ponies on restricted grazing.
Where
several horses are turned out together more than one bin can be
placed around the field to prevent any possible arguments.
The
Hayledge is a quality British made Galvanised heavy duty product.
If you are not delighted with this product a full refund will be
given if returned within 28 days of purchase.
| Dustbin
with draining and fixing holes can be provided if required at
£5.99 plus postage and packing. |
|
|
| The
specially designed weight will stop your horse pulling out large
quantities of hay ensuring none is wasted. Consumption of forage
is restricted resulting in trickle feeding over a longer period
of time. This system can be used with hay, soaked hay or haylage. |
|
| Here’s
how you solve the problem effectively and with minimum cost
– it will save you pounds! Purchase a traditional dustbin
from any Hardware store. Make a few holes in the bottom for
drainage. Fix it to a post or rail in your horse’s field.
Fill with hay and place the Hayledge weight on top. If it rains
any excess moisture will drain away. As the hay is eaten the
Hayledge works its way down to the bottom of the bin. Next morning,
lift the weight out, replenish with fresh hay and replace back
on top of the hay – simple ! |
